Privacy Policy

1. INTRODUCTION

Shipshape Solutions Inc. ("Shipshape") takes your privacy seriously. We believe in protecting your information as well as your person and belongings. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to describe how Shipshape collects, uses and shares information about our customers, whether obtained through our call center or online interfaces (e.g., website and mobile applications) owned and controlled by us, including Shipshape.ai and https://www.upgrademycrawlspace.com/ (collectively referred to herein as the “Site”). Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do. If you do not understand any aspects of our Privacy Policy, please feel free to Contact Us or as described in Section 7 of this Privacy Policy.

Scope; Third Party Sites

This Privacy Policy applies only to information we collect at and through the Site. Our Site also contains links to third party sites that are not owned or controlled by Shipshape. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our Site and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personal information.

Service Providers

When you submit an inquiry or use another Service provided through the Site, you direct Shipshape to share information about you or provided by you with third parties in our network, which deliver the products and services your request (collectively, “Service Providers”). PLEASE NOTE: The Service Providers that interact with you may retain or use your information whether or not you use their services. You should contact these Service Providers directly concerning their privacy and information sharing practices. Pursuant to the contracts between Shipshape and its Service Providers, if you select a Service Provider through a Shipshape website, Shipshape may also receive information about you from that Service Provider including, but not limited to, the amount and nature of the services performed by the Service Provider for you. Shipshape and its Service Providers may exchange information about you, your loan terms (if applicable), and your accounts for the purpose of providing you with information about services and products. Shipshape may maintain this information to assist with litigation, regulatory request(s), law enforcement requests, internal analytics, marketing purposes, and any other legally permissible purpose. We may share information with Service Providers that perform certain services on our behalf including, but not limited to, credit bureaus, marketing partners, or entities providing business analysis and/or website or product support.

Shipshape App Customer Options

At Shipshape, we always want to make sure you have control of your data. As a Shipshape customer, you have three options with how we share your home’s data with third party Service Providers in the Shipshape network:

  1. Always share: if you would like to have peace of mind that your home is being taken care of and do not want to think about diagnostics, select this option. Your Service Provider will be automatically notified with the same Smart Alert you receive to provide maintenance as soon as possible.
  2. Ask permission: Each time Shipshape sends you an alert about a needed service or repair, you will have the option to share your relevant data with your service provider. All alerts are shared only with your permission at each occurrence.
  3. Never share: No home data is shared with a Service Provider.

You can choose one of these options at any time by modifying your preferences in the Shipshape app.

Additional Terms

Please reference our Terms of Service which apply to your purchase of our products. Moreover, if you subscribe to Shipshape’s monitoring services or activate service offerings made available in connection with a Shipshape product that do not require a monitoring subscription, use of those services are also subject to the Terms of Service.

If you choose, you can visit the Site without providing us with any information about yourself.

We seek to limit the collection and use of customer information required to deliver service to our customers, which includes advising our customers about our products, services and other opportunities, and to administer our business.

This may include capturing and making available to you portions of the recording data as part of a notification or analysis of the data to identify anomalies or other events. We process and store information from your smart-enabled appliance so that we can send you alerts when there is an event.

We collect information about how you use the Services, including actions you take in your Shipshape account, to efficiently and reliably provide the Services. In some cases, Shipshape or the third-party partner will instead (or also) ask for permission to control the Shipshape products and services and/or Third-Party Products and Services that you have activated and connected to as contemplated hereunder. Your consent is required to allow any of these exchanges or requests for control and you will be able to revoke or disable it at any time.

In addition, Shipshape may share information with such third-party partners with your permission. For example, when you enroll or activate Third-Party Products and Services, you may be asked for your permission to share certain data between Shipshape and our partner. Shipshape requires your consent before sharing information in these circumstances. 3. HOW WE USE AND SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

To Provide Products, Services, and Information

As described above, we collect information from you so that we can provide products and services that you purchase from us, and to provide information that you request from us. We may send you information about our products and services, and new offerings. You may opt out of receiving future communications (with the exception of alarm alerts and service information) from us by logging into your account and editing your profile.  You may also opt out of receiving commercial e-mail from us by following the instructions in each e-mail.

If you subscribe for monitoring services, or make other purchases through the Site, your credit card or debit card information (such as card type and expiration date) and other financial data that we need to process your payment may be collected and stored by the payment processors with which we work. We may also collect some limited information, such as your postal code, mobile number, and details of your transaction history, all of which are necessary to provide the monitoring services or products. In addition, the payment processors generally provide us with some limited information related to you, such as a unique token that enables you to make additional purchases using the information they’ve stored, including recurring payments if you become a subscriber, and your card’s type, expiration date, and certain digits of your card number.

The following are the limited situations where we may share personal information:

With your consent: We may share personal information when we have your consent. One example of this would be if you sign up for programs offered by our partners (e.g., Service Providers, energy or insurance companies). If you do this, we may share certain information with our partner. This could include things like your enrollment information, the activation status of your device, and data, alerts, and/or notifications generated by the device. The Customer acknowledges that, if the Customer purchases the Services through a service provider or reseller and designates any of the Service Provider or reseller's personnel as Administrators of the Customer's Services account, the Service Provider or reseller may be able to control account information, including customer data, and access the Customer's Services account as described above.

For external processing: We may have vendors, service providers, and technicians who help with some of our processing and storage. They may also assist with monitoring our servers for technical problems. These technicians (as well as ShipShape employees) may be able to access certain information about you, your account, or your sensors in line with this work but will not be allowed to use this data for non-ShipShape purposes. As part of business transitions: Upon the sale or transfer of the company and/or all or part of its assets, your personal information may be among the items sold or transferred. We will request a purchaser to treat our data under the privacy statement in place at the time of its collection.

For example, to respond to legal processes, or comply with state and federal laws. We will own and may share non-personal customer information (for example, aggregated or anonymized customer data) publicly and with our partners. For example, we may publish trends about water use or frequency of floods in the home. This information may also be shared with other users to help them better understand their water usage compared to others or raise awareness about safety issues. We may also share non-personal information with our partners, for example, if they are interested in providing demand-response services or other incentive programs.
