What Is the Web Dashboard?

The Shipshape Web Dashboard gives you access to your home's data from any computer with a web browser. It is the desktop companion to the Shipshape mobile app, offering the same information on a larger screen where detailed charts, equipment inventories, and reports are easier to review.

You can access it at dashboard.shipshape.ai.

Getting Started

Logging In

  • Visit dashboard.shipshape.ai in your web browser
  • Sign in with the same email and password you use for the Shipshape mobile app
  • If you created your account through a service professional's invitation, use the credentials you set up during that process

There is no separate account for the web dashboard. Your mobile app account works everywhere.

Browser Compatibility

The web dashboard works in any modern web browser:

  • Google Chrome (recommended)
  • Apple Safari
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge

For the best experience, keep your browser updated to the latest version. The dashboard is designed for desktop and laptop screens. For mobile access, the native Shipshape app provides a better experience than the web dashboard on a small screen.

What You Can Do on the Dashboard

The web dashboard gives you access to all the key features of your Shipshape account. Here is a walkthrough of each section.

Home Tab

This is your overview, the first thing you see when you log in:

  • Home Health Score — Your current score displayed prominently, with a breakdown of contributing factors
  • Recent Notifications — The latest alerts and updates from SAM
  • Key Stats — Quick snapshot of your home's status (number of monitored appliances, active sensors, open alerts)
  • Weather — Current and forecasted conditions for your home's location, relevant because weather directly affects your home's performance

The Home tab answers the question: "Is everything okay with my home right now?"

Appliances Tab

Your complete equipment inventory, displayed in a format that is easier to browse on a larger screen:

  • Equipment list — All registered appliances with status indicators
  • Detail view — Click any appliance to see its full profile:
    • Make, model, and serial number
    • Installation date and current age
    • Expected lifespan and replacement timeline
    • Photos (data plates, installation documentation)
    • Service history and maintenance records
    • Associated sensors and real-time readings
    • Power consumption data (if monitored)
    • Activity history (on/off cycles, runtime)
    • Manufacturer details and specifications
    • Lifespan estimates from MyBudgeting

The Appliances tab is where the depth of your Home Health Record really shows. Every piece of equipment, every service record, every sensor reading is organized and accessible.

Devices Tab

All of your Shipshape monitoring hardware:

  • Sensor list — Every sensor and smart device in your home
  • Real-time status — Current readings for each sensor (temperature, humidity, power, water detection)
  • Connection info — Signal strength and connectivity status
  • Battery levels — For battery-powered sensors, see remaining charge at a glance
  • Gateway status — Your gateway's connection status and uptime
  • Device history — When each device was installed, last communication time

The Devices tab helps you confirm that your monitoring network is healthy and all sensors are reporting as expected.

Sensor Charts and Data

One of the biggest advantages of the web dashboard is the ability to review sensor data charts on a full-sized screen:

  • Temperature trends over hours, days, weeks, or months
  • Humidity patterns with healthy range indicators
  • Power consumption graphs for monitored appliances
  • Equipment activity timelines showing on/off cycles
  • Overlay comparisons to see how different metrics relate to each other

On a laptop or desktop monitor, you can see much more data at once than on a phone screen. This makes it easier to spot trends, identify anomalies, and understand how your home performs over time.

Alert History

A complete log of every notification SAM has sent:

  • Date and time of each alert
  • Alert type and severity (informational, attention needed, urgent)
  • Details — What triggered the alert and what SAM recommended
  • Resolution status — Whether the issue has been addressed
  • Filtering — Sort by date, type, severity, or equipment to find specific alerts

This history is valuable when discussing your home with a service professional, filing an insurance claim, or simply reviewing what has happened over the past year.

Documents

Access files stored in your Home Health Record:

  • Equipment photos and data plate images
  • Service reports and invoices
  • Warranty documents
  • Inspection reports
  • Download capability — Save documents to your computer for offline reference or sharing

Staying in Sync

The web dashboard and mobile app are always in sync. They both connect to the same Shipshape cloud account, so:

  • An appliance you add on the app appears on the dashboard immediately
  • An alert you view on the dashboard is marked as read in the app
  • Equipment details edited on either platform update everywhere
  • Sensor data is the same regardless of where you access it

You can switch between the app and dashboard freely. Use whichever is more convenient at the moment.

When to Use the Dashboard vs. the App

Both the web dashboard and the mobile app give you access to the same data. Here is when each is most useful:

Use the Web Dashboard When You Want To:

  • Review detailed sensor charts — The larger screen makes trends and patterns much easier to see
  • Browse your equipment inventory — Scrolling through appliance details is more comfortable with a mouse and keyboard
  • Download reports or documents — Saving files to your computer is straightforward from the browser
  • Enter detailed equipment information — Typing make, model, and serial numbers is faster on a full keyboard
  • Review alert history — Filtering and searching through past alerts works well on a larger display
  • Share your screen — When discussing your home with a service professional, insurance agent, or real estate agent remotely

Use the Mobile App When You Want To:

  • Check alerts on the go — Push notifications go to your phone
  • Scan equipment — The AI Equipment Scan uses your phone's camera
  • Quick status check — Glance at your Home Health Score and recent activity
  • Contact your service professional — One-tap scheduling is optimized for mobile
  • Take photos — Document equipment conditions or issues with your phone camera
  • Chat with SAM — The conversational interface is designed for mobile

Tips for Getting the Most from the Dashboard

  1. Bookmark it. Save dashboard.shipshape.ai to your browser bookmarks for quick access.

  2. Check it monthly. Even if you rely on the app day to day, a monthly visit to the dashboard to review charts and trends is a good habit. The larger screen reveals patterns you might miss on your phone.

  3. Use it for data entry. When you are adding multiple appliances or entering detailed equipment information, the dashboard's keyboard interface is faster and less error-prone than typing on a phone.

  4. Review before service visits. Pull up the dashboard before a scheduled service professional visit. It gives you a clear picture of your home's status to discuss during the appointment.

  5. Export for your records. Download important documents and reports periodically as a backup for your personal files.

  6. Share your screen with service pros. If you are discussing a home issue over the phone or video call, sharing your dashboard screen gives the professional real-time context about your equipment and sensor data.

Troubleshooting

Cannot Log In

  • Verify you are using the same email address as your mobile app account
  • Try resetting your password through the "Forgot Password" link
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again
  • Make sure you are visiting dashboard.shipshape.ai (not a different URL)

Data Looks Outdated

  • Refresh the page (press F5 or Command+R on Mac)
  • Check your internet connection
  • If data has not updated in several hours, check the Devices tab to verify your gateway is online

Charts Not Loading

  • Try a different browser to rule out browser-specific issues
  • Disable browser extensions that might interfere (ad blockers, privacy extensions)
  • Check that JavaScript is enabled in your browser settings
